About
Duration: 1.5 Hour | CEU Points awarded: 2 General (CEUs), Level 1, Accreditation Number: PPB007/2025/06/002 This one and a half hour CPD lecture explores the complexity of elbow pathology, providing a clinically relevant overview of common conditions that impair function. Building on foundational anatomy, the course revisits key structures—bones (humerus, radius, ulna), ligaments, tendons, and muscles—before focusing on frequent pathologies such as lateral epicondylalgia (tennis elbow), medial epicondylalgia (golfer’s elbow), bursitis, fractures, dislocations, and nerve entrapment syndromes. Participants will learn how to identify and differentiate these conditions using a combination of physical examination techniques and diagnostic imaging. Treatment options are introduced, including conservative strategies (e.g., exercise therapy, injections) and indications for surgical referral, with greater detail provided in the companion course, Elbow Treatment and Rehab. Emphasis is placed on understanding the mechanisms of injury and how to apply this insight in treatment planning. In this course you will learn: To recognize and differentiate common elbow pathologies The anatomy and biomechanics relevant to elbow dysfunction How conditions like tendinopathy, bursitis, and nerve entrapments present clinically Diagnostic strategies, including examination and imaging An overview of treatment pathways, from conservative to surgical management.
